Tisha B'Av Program

Wednesday, July 29, 7:30 p.m.

Join the Holocaust and Human Rights Center and the Center for Small Town Jewish Life as we commemorate Tisha B'Av. This observance reminds us of the baseless hatred that led to the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem. We will hear from the HHRC about how they are combating hatred in Maine, see and hear about art from the WALLS exhibit sponsored by the HHRC, and join together with prayers and poetry commemorating ancient tragedies and acknowledging present-day suffering. After a brief break, we'll reconvene around 8:40 p.m. for a chanting of the Book of Lamentations. All are welcome.

Registration for this program, which is being offered free of charge, is required. Donations in support of the program are gratefully accepted.

Once you have successfully completed your registration, you will receive an email confirmation with the Zoom link and the security password. This is for your use only. Please do not share it outside of your household. If you do not receive an email confirmation, please make sure your registration was accepted. If you have registration difficulties, contact Liz Snider, [email protected].

You will receive a reminder email on Wednesday, July 29th, the day of the event, with the link and the password needed to join the program.
